What are diversity and inclusion?

Diversity is the “mix” of people within your organization. While it’s common to think of diversity only in terms of demographic characteristics like skin colour, age, or gender, it is important to consider deeper-level diversity traits like values and attitudes. These dimensions of diversity are interconnected.

Inclusion is what allows organizations to truly benefit from its diverse mix of individuals. Inclusion allows individuals to maintain a sense of uniqueness while experiencing belonging to their group. An organization that moves from diversity to inclusion performs better and achieves greater creativity. Individuals within the organization report higher levels of engagement.
